Are you looking for basic difference between RO and UV water purification process? Want to get some experts’ tips helpful to select the suitable purifier?
RO and UV type purifier’s are common in our market, and before buying a water purifier you should be well known about the differences between these two then you can choose the best for your purpose. RO water purifier means reverse osmosis based water purifiers and UV water purifier means ultraviolet based water purifier. These is a common misconception in our society, that reverse osmosis based water purifiers are better than ultraviolet based ones.
Reverse osmosis water purifier’s
We already learned about osmosis from our schools. Osmosis means it is the flow of water molecules from a higher solution concentration region to a lower concentration region through a semi permeable membrane. So RO water purifier works opposite to the osmosis. It moves water molecules from a lower region to a higher region. It works by using the pressure of the water to push it across the membrane. During this process impuriter and dissolved solids will leave behind the membrane.
Ultraviolet water purifier’s
Just like the name indicates, these kind of water purifier’s are working with the help of Ultraviolet ray’s. And this is why UV water purifier’s are much better than RO water purifier’s. In UV water purifier’s the germs and micro organisms will be destroyed with the help of UV rays after the RO stage and delivering a completely pure water.
So in my opinion UV water purifier’s are much better than RO water purifier’s and you can use RO for your household purposes where high levels of TDS and impurities are present.
